Sam is a Co-Founder of Channel 39 and is passionate about applying his growth expertise to launch bold ideas from “zero to one” in close partnership with both first-time, “unlikely” founders and proven founders alike. Before launching Channel 39, in 2018 he co-founded Dive Technologies with Bill Lebo and Jerry Sgobbo in Boston, where he built and executed strategies around go-to-market, fundraising, and business operations to deliver long-endurance, deep-diving autonomous underwater vehicles into the defense and commercial markets. Dive was acquired by Anduril Industries in under four years, after which Sam and Bill scaled the team from 30 to over 200 teammates. Prior to Dive, Sam worked at General Dynamics Mission Systems, where he, Bill, and Jerry first met following GD’s acquisition of Bluefin Robotics.
Sam also served in the U.S. Army as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot, completing two combat deployments to Afghanistan, and later led a high-security helicopter unit in Washington, D.C. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Systems Engineering and deep passion for leading highly optimized teams where people and culture come first.
